Funeral Services Set For Sparkill Woman Killed On Honduras Charity Mission
SPARKILL, N.Y. -- Abigail Flanagan, the Sparkill nurse who died in a tragic accident while on a charity mission in Honduras, will be laid to rest this week, according to a report in lohud.
The Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan is handling the arrangements, lohud reported.
Calling hours are 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, and Thursday, Jan. 11; and her funeral is set for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, the lohud story said.

Bridgeport Drug Dealer Gets 40 Years For Slaying Girlfriend
BRIDGEPORT, CONN. -- A Bridgeport man has been given 40 years behind bars for the 2011 shooting death of his girlfriend, who friends said was planning to leave him, according to a report on ctpost.com.
Abimael Ramos, a 32-year-old convicted drug dealer, had claimed that his girlfriend, Luz Morales, had been shot dead during a home invasion, the ctpost report said.
Ramos was convicted of first-degree manslaughter with a firearm after a jury determined that his story was a lie, the ctpost said.

Man, 25, Faces DWI Charges After Orangetown Stop, Police Say
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A New Jersey man faces drunk driving charges after he struck a parked car and a mailbox on Route 340 in Orangetown, police said.
Alexander Singh, 25, of Dumont, was pulled over by authorities around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, and given field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.
Singh was taken to police headquarters where he was given a Breathalyzer test, which he also failed, police said.
He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.
Singh was released to a family member after a $100 bond was posted, police said.

BRIDGEPORT – A 13-year veteran police officer, who resigned last year, has asked to be let off the hook in an alleged conspiracy to paint the Bridgeport department as racist, according to a report by ctpost.com.

Beagle Pals Need Home Together, Putnam Shelter Says
CARMEL, N.Y. -- Tom and Jerry are never apart in their temporary Carmel digs.
They stroll, snooze, play, and chow down together, and now the Putnam County Humane Society would like the two beagles to have a new home together.
Tom is six years old and Jerry is 10, the shelter said.
The happy, friendly, and social pooch pals are up for adoption and can be met at the shelter from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sundays through Saturdays.
