Starbucks Swiper: Man Steals Thousands In Gift Cards From Long Island Chain A thirsty thief walked out of a Long Island Starbucks with thousands of dollars worth of gift cards, authorities said. The incident happened on Friday, Sept. 29 in Coram. Just before 6 p.m., an unknown man walked into the Starbucks located at 1710 Route 112. Authorities said the man snatched gift cards from an employee, worth a total of $1,200, and ran. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest of the thief. Stolen Car Crashes Into Home, Suspect At Large On Long Island Police are searching for a person who stole a car from a Long Island home, crashed it into a different home, and fled the scene. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in South Floral Park, Nassau County Police said. That morning, a homeowner on Hill Avenue left their white Honda sedan running in their driveway. The incident occurred on Friday, Sept. 8 in Shirley, according to Suffolk County Police. Man, 44, Dies In Collision On Long Island Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in a Long Island intersection. It happened on Friday, Oct. 13 in South Farmingdale. At approximately 3:45 p.m., a 44-year-old man was traveling east on Reese Place on an electric bike, according to Nassau County Police. Shots Fired At Long Island Home, Suspect At Large, Police Say Authorities are on the hunt for an unknown person who fired two shots at a residential Long Island home and fled the scene. The shooting occurred on Sunday, Oct. 15 in Plainview, Nassau County Police said. Knife-Wielding Man Threatens Hospital Employees On Long Island: Police A Long Island man was arrested following a struggle after police said he threatened hospital employees with a knife. Martin McCarthy, age 49, was arrested on Friday, Oct. 13 in Mineola, according to Nassau County Police. Man Nabbed For Burglary, Injuring Gas Station Employee On Long Island: Police A Long Island man was arrested after he broke into a gas station, injuring an employee in the process, police said. It happened on Monday, Oct. 9 in Lakeview, according to Nassau County Police.
