Seen Her? Teen Missing After Leaving Long Island Home Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a 14-year-old girl who went missing from her Long Island home. Keiry Magana, age 14, was last seen on Friday, Oct. 20 in Hempstead, according to Nassau County Police. She left her house at approximately 11:30 p.m. that day and was reported missing the next day. Magana is Hispanic, stands at 5-foot-1, and weighs approximately 110 pounds. She has brown eyes and red hair. No information regarding her clothing is available. Man Found Dead In Stairwell On Long Island A Long Island man who was found dead in a stairwell of an apparent homicide has been identified, police announced. It happened on Saturday, Oct. 21 in Hempstead. At approximately 5:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call to find 53-year-old Marlon Rivas-Aguilar bleeding and unresponsive in the stairwell of 45 Jackson Street. Rivas-Aguilar, who is from Freeport, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel as a result of what appeared to be puncture wounds. Shot Fired: Shoplifter Flees Long Island Mall After Altercation Police are searching for a man who fired a shot in a Long Island mall after he was allegedly caught shoplifting. It happened on Monday, Oct. 23 in Valley Stream, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 11:15 a.m. at the Green Acres Mall, located at 1015 Green Acres Mall, Sunrise Highway, the suspect attempted to shoplift clothes from Clique, a store on the mall’s second floor. Closures Announced For Jericho Turnpike On Long Island According to transportation officials, lanes on Long Island’s State Route 25 will be closed to facilitate paving projects. Starting Monday, Oct. 23, and lasting for approximately five nights, one to two lanes in Westbury and Old Westbury will be closed at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Glen Cove Road, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. It's A Girl! Officers Help Deliver Baby On Long Island Police officers on Long Island made it just in time to help a pregnant woman deliver a healthy baby girl. Move over, stork! It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in Uniondale. Nassau County Police officers traveled to help a woman in labor near the area of Chester Street and Front Street. It happened on Monday, Oct. 16 in Kings Point, according to Nassau County Police. Liar, Liar, House On Fire: Darien Woman Arrested For False Reporting, Police Say A Connecticut woman was nabbed by police months after she allegedly lied about a house fire, authorities announced. On Tuesday, Oct. 10, Fairfield County resident Courtenay Evans, age 26, turned herself in for the incident, which happened in July 2023, according to Darien County Police. Evans, who lives in Darien, reportedly called 911 on July 23, 2023, to report that a house was on fire across the street from her home on Chasmars Pond Road.
