Spring Valley Temple's Congregation Moving Torahs To New Home
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- When final services are conducted at Temple Beth El and the Torah scrolls solemnly marched to their new home this weekend, it will be the end of an era, but also a new beginning, for the Spring Valley congregation, according to a report by lohud.com.
Beth El, which has used the temple on Viola Road since 1965, recently consolidated with Temple Beth Torah in Upper Nyack after both their congregations declined in number, lohud.com reported.

Pomona Shelter Introduces Brian, Its 'Pet Of The Week"
POMONA, N.Y. – Brian, a beautiful long-haired kitty with a mellow personality, is the “Pet of the Week” at the Hi Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona.
The 8-year-old male is, the shelter said, “very low energy and very gentle.”
He would do best in a home with teens or adults, the shelter said.
The shelter added that it knows Brian has lived with other felines in the past, but was unsure if the kitty would take to take to doggie roommates.
