Connecticut's High School Graduation Rates Reach Record High
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Connecticut’s high school graduation rates hit an all-time high in 2015, state officials said Monday.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said 87.2 percent of high schoolers graduated that year, which is, he said, “significantly higher” than the national average of 82.3 percent.
This is a testament, the governor said, to the “hard work of our teachers, principals, superintendents, parents, and community partners.”
The state’s commissioner of education, Dianna R. Wentzell, joined Malloy in making the announcement.

New Rochelle Police Honor Fallen Comrades, Officers' Service
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- City and law enforcement officials, and family members, gathered in New Rochelle recently to pay tribute to police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony, which was held on Wednesday, May 18, in observance of National Police Week, took place at the Greentree Country Club.
Also recognized were the accomplishments of nearly 100 members of the Police Department.
