Fatal Crash: Man In Custody After Hitting Woman In Stratford, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash. The collision, which took place on the town line of Stratford and Bridgeport on Thursday, Aug. 10, killed a 25-year-old Stratford woman who was walking along the roadway. According to Capt. Man Charged With Rape After Yearlong Investigation In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man is behind bars on rape charges following a year-long investigation. Dutchess County resident Kawliga B. Shapiro, age 42, of the town of Wappinger, was charged on Tuesday, Aug. 8. Shapiro is accused of having sexual intercourse with someone who is unable to consent on at least two occasions in 2022, said Capt. Norwalk Carjacker Who Shot Victim In Leg Captured, Police Say A violent carjacker who shot a woman in the leg while stealing her vehicle in Fairfield County has been captured.  Deonte Sayles, age 27, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 9 for the Monday, June 19 incident in Norwalk. Man Nabbed For High-End Thefts In Greenwich, Police Say Police in Fairfield County have charged a Westchester County man in connection with allegedly being part of an organized retail theft ring that ripped off thousands in goods from high-end stores.
