46-Year-Old Killed After Vehicle Crashes Into Guardrail On CT Roadway, Police Say A Connecticut man was killed in a single-vehicle crash after allegedly losing control of his vehicle. The crash took place in Hartford County around 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8 on Route 9 in Berlin. According to the Connecticut State Police, Angel Ruiz, age 46, of New Britain, was traveling southbound on Route 9 when he lost control of his 2014 Yamaha YZFR1 motorcycle and collided with a metal beam guardrail adjacent to the right shoulder. The force of the collision threw Ruiz onto the right shoulder of the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The case remains under investigation…

Extradited Bridgeport Murder Suspect Confesses, Police Say A Fairfield County man wanted for the 2020 stabbing of a man that resulted in his death two years later confessed to detectives when he was extradited from Georgia, according to police. Anthony Marion, age 58, of Bridgeport, was extradited from Fulton County, Georgia on Wednesday, Aug. 9, and offered a full confession to detectives, said Capt. Child Sex: Hudson Valley Man Charged With Assault Of 10-Year-Old Girl, DA Says A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. Orange County resident Dylan M. Benner, age 21, of Middletown, was charged with predatory sexual assault against a child on Thursday, Aug. 3, said District Attorney David M. Hoovler and City of Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden. Benner was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail. Westport Man Charged In Jan. 6 Attack On US Capitol A Connecticut man has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges, including assaulting law enforcement, related to his actions during the breach of the US Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021. Norwalk Man High On Drugs Attempts To Kidnap Child From Car, Police Say A Fairfield County man who police say was high on drugs was captured after allegedly attempting to take a child out of a car and from a woman. The incident occurred in Norwalk around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6 in front of a home on Bouton Street. Forest Rangers Rescue Lost Hiker In Hudson Valley After Hours-Long Search A lost hiker in the Hudson Valley was rescued by forest rangers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation after a search that took several hours. Brown Cow Escapes From Yard In Trumbull, Goes For Walk A brown cow escapes its fencing in Fairfield County and decided to go for a walk, startling some residents. The great cow escape occurred in Trumbull around 10 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 near Old Town Road and Reservoir Avenue. The cow was bought earlier in the day at an auction by an area resident, said Lt. Stabbing Victim Shoots, Kills Attacker In Bridgeport A 25-year-old Fairfield County man was killed after being shot in the chest by a man he allegedly stabbed multiple times. Woman Busted For Purse Snatching, Injuring Victim In Region, Police Say A 32-year-old woman from the region was charged with felony attempted purse snatching and assault after allegedly trying to grab a woman's purse, knocking her down, and breaking her wrist.
