Head-On Crash: Children Among 5 Injured In Hudson Valley Five people, including two children, were injured in a head-on crash in the Hudson Valley. The collision took place in Orange County around 7 a.m., Monday, Aug. 14 in the area of Route 17K and Dealer Driver in the town of Newburgh. When the town of Newburgh Police arrived on the scene, they found a 2018 Chevy Equinox with heavy front-end damage, driven by Chauncey Smith, age 22, of Pine Bush. Tornado Touches Down In Connecticut Town A weak tornado touched down in Connecticut during an intense thunderstorm over the weekend. The twister touched down in Litchfield County in the town of Roxbury around 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, and lasted for about five minutes, said the National Weather Service. Rated as an EF-0, the weakest on the Enhanced Fujita scale, the damage included large broken tree limbs that started along Minor Bridge Road and moved northwest and uphill before ending near Town Line Road, the weather service said. Swimmer Goes Missing At State Park In Ridgefield Police and dive teams are searching for a swimmer who was reported missing at a state park in Fairfield County. The effort to find the person began just before 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 14, at Pierrepont State Park in Ridgefield, after the Ridgefield Police Department received a call reporting they could not find the person they were swimming with. FBI Offering Reward For Information In Hudson Valley Murder Investigation The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of a Hudson Valley woman 35 years ago. The FBI's Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and the Spring Valley Police Department are asking the public assistance in the homicide of Glennise "Gamma" Stroud on Saturday, Sept. 12, 1987. Fairfield Fire Truck Hit By Speeding Pickup At I-95 Crash Scene A fire truck was damaged when a pickup truck allegedly rammed into it on I-95 in Fairfield County as police and fire were working at an earlier crash on the highway. Hudson Valley Man Who Dropped Bag Of Cocaine While Being Arrested Faces Years Behind Bars A Hudson Valley man faces up to four years in prison after being convicted by a jury for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Orange County resident Raiquan Falls, age 27, of Newburgh, was found guilty on Friday, Aug. 11, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Argument Leads To Woman's Arrest In New Canaan A Connecticut woman wanted on two warrants was charged with failure to appear during an argument with another person at a Fairfield County home, authorities say. New Haven County resident Giorgiana Rose Mastrangelo, age 23, of Ansonia, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 10 in New Canaan on Forest Street.
