CT Man Nabbed For Sexually Assaulting Minor, Police Say
A Connecticut man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor following a two-month investigation.
The Hartford County incident took place in Manchester.
In May, the Manchester Police Department received information that Jesus Manuel Figueroa, age 32, of Hartford, was suspected of sexually abusing a minor child, said Lt. Ryan Shea, of the Manchester Police Department.
Detectives conducted an extensive investigation and a warrant for the arrest of Figueroa was issued, Shea said.

Long Island Man Nabbed With Weapon, Drugs, Police Say
A Long Island man was nabbed with a gun and drugs after being stopped for allegedly running a stop sign, authorities announced.
The incident took. place around 1 a.m., Sunday, July 3 in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Officers spotted a 2019 Toyota Camry run a stop sign at the intersection of Northern Parkway and Nassau Road.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered a loaded .380 caliber pistol, along with 59 Oxycodone pills, Nassau County Police said.

ID Released For CT Man Found Shot Dead On Roadway
Police have released the identity of a Connecticut man found shot dead on a city street.
Abdiel Rodriguez, age 25, was found around 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 in the city of New London, in the area of Colman Street and West Pleasant Street.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers located and treated Rodriguez who had sustained life-threatening injuries, Capt. Matthew Galante, of the New London Police, said.
Rodriguez, of New London, was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Galante said.

Hudson Valley Duo Sentenced For Violent Beating, Carjacking
A Hudson Valley duo have been sentenced to prison for their part in a brutal carjacking and beating of an area man who was left for dead.
Rockland County residents Dwayne Hicks, age 28, of Spring Valley, and Tnaiya Williams, age 27 of New City, were sentenced on Tuesday, July 5 for the February 2021 crime, according to the Office of the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Hicks was sentenced to 12 years in prison and Williams to 44 months, the US Attorney's Office said.

Long Island Duo Nabbed For Armed Gas Station Robbery, Police Say
A Long Island duo has been nabbed for allegedly robbing a BP gas station at gunpoint.
The incident took place around in Merrick around 7:10 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 at the station located at 1185 Merrick Ave.
According to detectives, Jerald Gadsden, age 31, and Heleena Velazquez-Krupp, age 28, both of North Woodmere, entered the gas station and approached a 62-year-old male employee and displayed a pistol demanding money.
The victim, in fear of his life, complied and opened the store register and gave Gadsden an unknown amount of cash, Nassau County Police said.
