She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

11-Year-Old Long Island Boy Struck, Killed By Truck An 11-year-old boy was hit and killed by a pickup truck backing out of a work site on Long Island. The accident took place in the village of Sagaponack around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7. According to Southampton Police, Southampton communications received a call about a child who had been struck by a truck, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police. CT Man Charged With Mailing Threatening Letters To Journalists, Judges, Public Figures Federal authorities have charged a Connecticut man for the fourth time with mailing threatening letters to journalists, judges, and other public figures. New Haven County resident Garrett Santillo, age 43, of Hamden, was arrested on Wednesday, July 6, on a federal criminal complaint charging him with mailing numerous threatening letters to individuals in Connecticut and elsewhere. Attorney Arrested In Norwalk For Stealing $1M From Clients, Police Say A Fairfield County real estate attorney has been charged with stealing more than $1 million from clients. Carl Ferraro, age 57, of Darien, was arrested on Wednesday, July 6 in Norwalk. Police say they received numerous complaints against Ferraro that he had withheld money from clients during real estate closings, said Sgt. Sofia Gulino, of the Norwalk Police. Woman Found With Loaded Gun Near School In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley woman has been arrested for allegedly having a loaded gun on school grounds. Ulster County resident Sarah Schatzel, age 35, of Kingston, was arrested around 10 a.m., on Wednesday, July 6, during an investigation. During the investigation the department said there was a brief pursuit of Schatzel in which she ran onto the property of the Kingston Catholic School with the loaded gun, police said. Body Of 35-Year-Old Found In Hudson Valley Reservoir The body of a 35-year-old Hudson Valley man was recovered from a reservoir by state police divers. The incident took place in Dutchess County in the town of Fishkill on Monday, July 5. According to police, the Dutchess County 911 Center received a call around 9:20 p.m., that a swimmer was missing in the Mount Beacon Reservoir in the town of Fishkill. Duo Nabbed For Drug Running To Hudson Valley Two men have been charged for allegedly running drugs from New Jersey to the Hudson Valley following a long-term investigation. Khalif Johnson, age 22, and Zakhi Jenkins, age 19, both of Paterson, New Jersey, were arrested in Orange County by Port Jervis Police on Tuesday, July 5. Nine Residents Rescued After Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Norwalk Nine residents and a pet were evacuated from a Fairfield County housing complex due to an apartment fire. The blaze broke out in Norwalk around 11:50 p.m., on Wednesday, July 6. Firefighters responded to a residential apartment fire at 261 Ely Ave., at the Roodner Court Housing complex, said Deputy Chief Michael McCallum. Once on the scene, firefighters found a fire in Building 18 apartment 2B, and quickly removed the nine residents and one pet from the area, McCallum said. Restaurant In Ossining Announces Closure A restaurant in Northern Westchester that was known for its tasty healthy food and civic work has closed its doors for good.
