School Spirit Shines As Irvington Students Celebrate Bulldog Day IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Skies were sunny and spirits high as Irvington’s Dows Lane Elementary School hosted its annual Bulldog Day recently. Classmates cheered each other on as they ran relay races and played field games like tug of war and capture the flag, said physical education teacher Marisa Stracuzzi. Teachers and parent volunteers supervised the day’s activities. Bulldog Day is the “highlight” of the school year, Stracuzzi said, adding many of the classes paired up to “build on teamwork and cooperation.”

Cancer Action Network Pushes Astorino OK Of Westchester's E-Cigarette Ban NEW YORK, N.Y. -- A nonprofit, advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society is praising a measure that, if signed into law in Westchester County, will curb the use of e-cigarettes in workplaces, restaurants and bars. Village Hall Summer Hours Tops Village Manager's Report BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Summer hours have been implemented for Briarcliff Manor’s Village Hall, according to Village Manager Philip E. Zegarelli. They are: Mondays to Thursdays: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays: 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Zegarelli also noted that the village’s 2015-2016 tax bills were mailed May 26 and taxpayers should now be able to view and pay their bills online. The first installment is due by July 1. Taxpayers must reach out to the Tax Department before the due date, or a 5 percent NYS imposed penalty will be applied, he said.
