Common Core Tests Stressing Students Out, School Psychologists Say Common Core tests are stressing kids in the area and around the state, according to a report in the Journal News. The newspaper cited a study conducted by the state School Boards Association, based in Latham, and the state Association of School Psychologists, which operates out of Albany. According to the report, the study found that most school psychologists in the state’s nearly 700 districts found that the tests given to third- through eighth-graders are causing more anxiety -- but not necessarily physical symptoms -- than local evaluations.
