David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester). Carlucci's “Operation Raise the Flag” has donated Old Glory to libraries, schools, veterans’ associations, and other local organizations. A flag-raising ceremony is set at the library for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23. 'Boulevard' Developers Seek Zoning Change For White Plains Site WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A New York City developer is seeking a zoning change which would allow it to build a mixed-use project in the south end of White Plains, according to a report in The Examiner News. Grid Properties has proposed the Post Road redevelopment project -- called The Boulevard -- to the city’s Common Council, the report said. Grid is seeking approval to build housing for hospital and city employees and a small retail complex in a blighted area that is now zoned for automotive dealerships, the Examiner reported. Norwalk Students Make Virtual Rounds At Health Care Training Program NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk students in a medical academy program recently got some virtual experience caring for patients, according to sponsors of the learning exercise. Twenty students from Brien McMahon High School were partnered up with peers from Norwalk Community College at the college’s Center for Science, Health and Wellness. The experimental health care program used an interdisciplinary simulation exercise to walk students through various dimensions of patient care. Cottle School’s annual winter concert a “huge success.” Cottle principal George Albano said the concert featured an orchestra directed by Lubima Shentov; a chorus directed by Keiha Kim; and a band directed by Richard Grasso. Albano extended a special thanks to Russian-born classical pianist Katya Grineva, who performed at the concert, and Annbritt DuChateau, who accompanied the teachers on piano.
