Wargacki has called a special session of the Borough Council for 7 p.m. tonight (Monday, Dec. 28). The special session will be held in the meeting room of the Civic Center, 24 Union Blvd. Items on the agenda are: Discussion on communications. Discussion on personnel/litigation issues. Discussion on appointments for 2016. Official action may take place on Resolution 2015-158 5. Any other matter that may require formal action.

The Pets Alive facility, which had been located at 100 Warehouse Road in the village, had to close in September due to major structural problems with the building, declining revenues and increasing costs. Andrew Cuomo signed the measure strengthening an existing law, making it a felony to assault EMTs, paramedics, and on-duty EMS officers, CBS reported. Monroe Police Charge Pair With Shoplifting, Drug Possession MONROE, Conn. – Two Monroe men were charged with larceny and drug possession after they were apprehended in a shoplifting case, according to the Connecticut Post. Nicholas Ludwig, 20, of Monroe, and Patrick Leite-Jesus, 19, of Shelton, were pulled over on Route 111 on Wednesday, Dec. 23, by a police officer investigating a report of shoplifting at a gas station on Route 34, the Post reported.
