Historic Wilton Barn Saved From Demolition; House May Also Be Spared
WILTON, Conn. -- In an apparent win for Wilton preservationists, the barn, and maybe the house, at the historic Schlichting Homestead will be taken apart and rebuilt at another location, according to the Wilton Bulletin.
The homestead at 183 Ridgefield Road, the oldest family-owned property in Wilton, was sold to a developer in August, according to a previous report in the Bulletin.
In trying to find alternatives to demolition, the developer reached out to a local architect who, in turn, contacted clients who have agreed to take the barn, the more recent report said.

New Canaan's Bo Hickey To Retire As Superintendent Of Lakeview Cemetery
NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Lakeview Cemetery’s longtime superintendent Thomas “Bo” Hickey is retiring from the New Canaan post.
Hickey, who worked at the cemetery for 34 years, will be replaced by Pete Passaro, according to a report in the New Canaan Advertiser.
Hickey, when reached at the cemetery office Monday, said the length of his tenure surprised even him. In the early 1980s, after he was approached numerous times by a member of the cemetery's board, he agreed to sign on for a short period.
"I said 'I'll take it, for a year or two ... to help out,'" Hickey recalled, chuckling.
