Wilton Rock Concert Raises 26K For Food Charities WILTON, N.Y. -- Two local food charities got a big boost recently after Wilton resident Andy Schlesinger pulled off a fund-raising rock concert, according to a report in the Wilton Bulletin. The first-ever Wilton Rocks for Food event, held at the Trackside Teen Center, raised $26,000 for the Wilton Interfaith Food Pantry and the Connecticut Food Bank, the Bulletin reported. The money was split evenly between the two entitites. Mount Pleasant Honor Students Donate Toys To Blythedale Children's Hospital VALHALLA, N.Y. -- There were presents for the young patients at the Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla on Christmas thanks to a holiday toy drive. Mount Pleasant students, members of the National Honor Society, gathered up new, unwrapped toys from the student body, faculty, and staff and, within a few weeks, were able to fill a large, decorated “Blythedale Toy Drive” box with gifts. Honor Society adviser Anthony Paduano, a teacher at Westlake High School in Thornwood, and NHS members boxed up the gifts and delivered them to the hospital in time for Christmas.
