Westchester Man, 40, Killed In Florida Hang-Gliding Accident
HARRISON, N.Y. -- A Harrison man died when he crashed his hang-glider in Florida, according to fox35orlando.com.
Tomas Banevicius, 40, a member of U.S. Hang Gliding Inc., a New York group, was killed Tuesday at Dunnellon Airport in Marion County, the fox35orlando.com story said.
Authorities say the crash appeared to be accidental, fox35orlando.com reported.

Suffern Steam Expo To Feature Robots, Art, Computer Coding
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A STEAM expo, featuring everything from robots to hydroponic gardens, is set for March at Suffern High School, said organizers, the Reach Foundation of Rockland County.
STEAM, which stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math, is more than just the subjects it names; it means young learners will get actual hands-on experience in what they will eventually encounter in college and the workforce.
The expo is set for 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6.

Man Charged With Felony DWI In Brewster
SOUTHEAST, N.Y. – An Oswego, N.Y., man faces charges of driving while intoxicated after he was arrested by state police on Route 22 in Southeast, authorities said.
Alan C. Wheeler, 30, was also charged with failing to operate a motor vehicle equipped with an interlock device, police said.
Troopers were dispatched Sunday, Jan. 31, to assist a disabled motorist on Route 22. An investigation revealed, police said, that the driver, Wheeler, was intoxicated.
He was charged with felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI-related conviction from 2013, police said.

Croton Man Charged With Pot Possession After Philipstown Stop
PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. – A Croton-on-Hudson man who was a passenger in a car pulled over by police in Philipstown now faces drug possession charges, police said.
Efrain R. Burgos, Jr., 27, was arrested by Putnam County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday, Jan. 30, on Route 9.
The officer, police said, smelled pot and searched the vehicle, seizing a quantity of marijuana.
Burgos was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

Woman Charged With Stealing Hundreds Of Dollars Worth Of Pillows From Sears
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yonkers woman, who had been sought in the theft of pillows from Sears in Jefferson Valley, has been arrested and charged with petit larceny, Yorktown police said.
A warrant for Gwendolyn D. Cole, 26, had been issued in early January, police said, after she was accused of taking $297 worth of pillows from the store.
Cole was arrested in New York City on Sunday, Jan. 31, after she was pulled over for alleged traffic violations, police said.
The New York City officers notified Yorktown police, who picked Cole up and bought her back to Westchester.
