Garnerville Man Faces Extradition To Georgia On Drug Charges
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Garnerville man, wanted on drug charges in Georgia, was arrested in Stony Point by local authorities investigating the theft of a pocketbook and other items, police said.
Anthony J. Friedman, 28, faces charges of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony; and false impersonation by issuing a false written statement, police said.
He was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
Police said that Friedman was accused of staling a pocketbook, credit card, and other things.

Couple Charged In Pair Of Yorktown Burglaries
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A couple is being held on burglary charges in connection with two break-ins in Yorktown, police said.
Joseph and Rosenete Koelpin, 49 and 51 respectively, of White Sulphur Springs, a hamlet in the town of Liberty in Sullivan County, were arrested on Thursday at police headquarters after they appeared to answer questions about two burglaries at a Barkley Lane residence last year, police said.
They were both charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, police said.
Bail was set for Rosenete Koelpin at $5,000, and no bail was set for Joseph Koelpin, police said.

ARC Of Rockland To Hold Life-Care Planning Workshop
CONGERS, N.Y. -- ARC of Rockland, a Congers-based nonprofit that serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will hold a free life-care planning workshop next month.
There will be two sessions for the free workshop on Tuesday, March 29, one will be held from10 a.m. - 12 noon, and the other, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Registration is required as a limited amount of space is available.

Fishkill Man Faces Multiple Charges After Route 9 Crash In Wappingers Falls
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- A Fishkill man is facing charges of driving while impaired by drugs, state police said.
Matthew R. Herring, 22, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 2, after a one-car crash on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls, state police said.
Herring was driving north when he apparently lost control of his car, which went off the road and hit a curb, state police said.
He was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police said Herring was in possession of heroin, a hypodermic needle, and other drugs.

West Haverstraw Woman Faces Drug Charges
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A West Haverstraw woman is facing drug charges after being stopped in Stony Point, police said.
Nicole Benjamin, 20, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Saturday, Feb. 6, police said.
Police said Benjamin had pot and cocaine in her possession.
She was arrested and held at the Rockland County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail, police said.
Benjamin is due back in court on Wednesday, Feb. 10, police said.
