NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A mid-century modern manse, said to represent a critical point in architect Marcel Breuer’s long career, is on the market in New Canaan for close to $6 million. according to mansionglobal.com.

Rockland Mother, Son Indicted In Deadly Blast
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two Rockland County residents are among six people indicted in a deadly gas explosion that took the lives of two people in New York City last year, according to Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.
Maria Hrynenko, 56, of Palisades, and her 30-year-old son, Michael, a Sparkill resident, have been charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and assault, among other things, Vance announced Thursday, Feb. 11.

Stratford Firehouses, Municipal Buildings Open As Warming Centers
STRATFORD, Conn. -- Firehouses in Stratford will be opened as warming centers at least for the next several days as an arctic blast envelops the region, according to a report in the ctpost.
The centers will be open from 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, through midnight Monday, Feb. 15, the ctpost report said.
Shivering citizens can also come into municipal buildings to warm up – during regular business hours, the ctpost story said.
The National Weather Service says temperatures are expected to fall below zero, with wind chills making it feel like is is 25 below.

Legal Costs Likely To Trim Wilton's Projected Savings
WILTON, CONN. -- Lawsuits, tax appeals, and other legal costs are expected to take a big bite out of Wilton’s expected fiscal savings, according to a report by WiltonBulletin.com.
According to the WiltonBulletin.com story, Anne Kelly-Lenz, the town’s chief financial officer, told the Board of Selectmen that anticipated $331,000 savings -- which she attributed to a decrease in employee benefit costs, among other things – would be reduced because of a projected $110,000 legal expenses.
