Poughkeepsie Man Charged With DWI, Unlicensed Operation
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie man riding a gas-powered bicycle has been charged with driving while intoxicated, state police said.
Donald P. Goeller, 51, was stopped by troopers on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the intersection of Vassar Road and Silver Lane for failing to maintain his lane, state police said.
Goeller was subsequently found to be intoxicated, and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, state police said.

Mahopac Passenger Faces Drug Charges After Route 6 Traffic Stop
MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A Mahopac man faces drug charges after he was arrested during a traffic stop on Route 6, says Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
Sheriff’s deputies stopped a motorist on Monday, Feb. 8, around 1:44 a.m. in Mahopac, Smith said.
The trooper smelled marijuana and, after a search of the vehicle, determined that a passenger, Michael P. Martin, 21, was in possession of marijuana and heroin, the sheriff said.
Martin was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said. …

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- A Cortlandt man is facing several charges in connection with a domestic disturbance, state police
Earnest M. Trotter, 30, who frightened the unnamed victim and damaged her car, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; third-degree endangering the welfare of a child; and third-degree menacing, both misdemeanors, state police said.
The dispute occurred in the presence of the victim’s 8-year-old child, state police said.

Hudson Valley Hero Joseph Lemm Awarded Bronze Star
West Harrison resident and New York City Police Detective Joseph Lemm, who was killed while serving with the Air National Guard in Afghanistan, has been awarded the Bronze Star for valor, according to a report on lohud.com
Lemm, 45, a staff sergeant in the Guard and Staff Sgt. Louis M. Bonacasa, of Coram, N.Y., who also got the nation’s fourth-highest military award, were among six Americans killed by a suicide bomber in December, the lohud article said.
A concert to benefit Lemm’s family is planned for Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, lohud also reported.
