Armonk Restaurant Spreads Love Around Town
ARMONK, N.Y. -- Connie Petrovich loves Armonk.
Even though it is not her hometown, the restaurateur has made it her mission to not only to feed the community, but to become a vital part of it.
Petrovich, a Greenwich resident, opened Armonk House, an eclectic American eatery, last fall on 111 Bedford Road.
The building, which used to house an Italian restaurant, has been revived with recycled materials.
Petrovich said her goal is to make the rustic, yet modern spot as inviting as possible. The restaurant offers live entertainment and hosts brunch and happy hours.

Push By Fairfield's Devlin To Strengthen Transportation Lockbox Plan Fails
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- State Rep. Laura Devlin, and other Republican lawmakers tried Monday to toughen up Connecticut’s proposed transportation fund “lockbox.”
Devlin (R-Fairfield/Trumbull) said that she, and other members of the Transportation Committee, had proposed an amendment strengthening safeguards, but it was voted down, 17-13.
Devlin, who represents the 134th District, accused Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, and other Democrats, of “raiding” funds meant solely for transportation projects by moving the money into the general budget account.

Retired Stratford Teacher, Out On Probation, Charged With Attacking Wife
STRATFORD, Conn. -- A retired teacher who is on probation after a bizarre incident involving a gun, his dog and pot plants, is again in hot water with the law, according to a report by ctpost.com.
Richard Watt, 60, a former social studies teacher at Stratford High School, was released from custody nine days ago and is now charged with trying to throttle his wife, ctpost.com reported.
In the Saturday incident, Watt chocked his wife until she passed out and was arrested on charges of second-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct, the ctpost.com said.

Stamford Police Seek Six Suspects In Man's Robbery, Beating
STAMFORD, CONN. -- A 31-year-old city resident told police he had been attacked and robbed as he was walking home on the West Side early Sunday morning, March 13, the Stamford Advocate reported.
The victim, who suffered a gash and bruising above one eye, said he had been followed for several blocks by a pair of men before being confronted and knocked out, the Stamford Advocate reported.
He also told police that four other men may have been involved, the Stamford Advocate story said.

Donald Trump remains in the lead in Florida and Illinois, where the presidential primaries are being held Tuesday, March 15, according to the latest Marist poll.
In Illinois, Trump, who owns a mansion in Bedford and golf clubs in Briarcliff Manor and Hopewell Junction, was leading Texas Sen. Ted Cruz 34 to 25 percent among the state’s likely Republican primary voters, the Marist poll said.
