Would-Be Hospital Buyer Sues Rockland For $5.9M MONSEY, N.Y -- The would-be buyer of a long-term care hospital in Pomona who blamed Rockland County for the $32 million deal’s collapse last fall has kicked it up a notch, according to a report by lohud. Shalom Braunstein, the Monsey CEO of Sympaticare Health, has filed a lawsuit in state Supreme Court seeking $5.9 million in fees and damages, claiming that his reputation has been sullied, lohud reported. James D’Amico, a former social studies teacher who is now the district’s director of secondary education, was tapped Monday for the post by schools Superintendent Elliott Landon, the Westport News reported.
