Man May Have Tried To Lure New City Children, Police Say
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Authorities are investigating a possible incident of attempted luring that occurred in New City on Wednesday, Clarkstown police said. According to police, an 8-year-old girl was playing with friends in the front yard of her Morris Drive home when a man in a four-door black sedan with tinted windows pulled up. The girl told her parents that the man gestured at them, but since they didn’t know who he was, they went back inside. Mohegan Lake Teen Charged With Stealing From Sears
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 16-year-old Mohegan Lake resident has been charged with shoplifting, Yorktown police said. The unnamed teen was arrested Wednesday, March 16, after she was accused of taking $129.98 worth of jewelry from the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley mall, police said. She was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, police said. The teen was released in a parent’s custody and is to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, April 10, police said.

Police Save Life Of Dutchess Heroin Overdose Victim
EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- East Fishkill police say they were able to save the life of a 39-year-old man this week who had overdosed on heroin. Officers were called to a residence in the Lake City development late Tuesday where they found the unconscious victim. An unidentified person at the scene told police they had already tried to revive the victim with naloxone, a drug that reverses the effects of opioid intoxication. Limo Driver Indicted In Fatal Crash That Injured Westchester Woman
A Long Island limousine driver has been indicted for criminally negligent homicide in a July 2015 crash that injured Scarsdale resident Melissa Angela Crai and killed four of her friends, according to multiple reports. Three other women were also injured when a pickup truck hit the limo being driven by Carlos Pino in which the women, who were visiting wineries in Suffolk County's North Fork, were passengers. State Looks To Claim Surplus Funds In Sandy Hook School Project
NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s move to repurpose surplus funds from the Sandy Hook Elementary School project is worrying some Republican lawmakers, according to the Connecticut Post. The state, which is struggling to close a massive budget gap, wants to repurpose $2.3 million of the project’s $50 million bond, the Post reported.
