Rockland Legislators Back Veto Power For East Ramapo Monitor RAMAPO, N.Y. -- In a show of support for students and parents in the troubled East Ramapo school district, Rockland County legislators voted this week to back state monitors with veto power, according to a report by lohud.com. According to lohud.com, all 17 county lawmakers present voted for the resolution across party lines. Dutchess County Legislators Missing Some Meetings DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Even though start times have been adjusted over the years to accommodate their work schedules, only a handful of Dutchess County legislators have perfect attendance for full board and committee meetings, according to a report by the Poughkeepsie Journal. Rockland Sheriff Seeks Public's Help In Search For Assault Suspect NEW CITY, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted on assault charges. Raymond Dennison, 32, is known to frequent Pearl River, police said. He is described as white, 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, and having black hair and brown eyes. Monroe Teen Dies In One-Car Crash MONROE, Conn. -- A one-car crash took the life of a Monroe teen this week, according to the Connecticut Post. Sarah Squinobal, 19, was killed on Garder Road late Tuesday, only a few miles from her home on Benedict Road, after she apparently lost control of her car and struck a pole, the Connecticut Post report said.
