Stony Point Man Faces Assault, Resisting Arrest Charges
PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A Stony Point man is facing several charges after he injured a police officer’s elbow while he was being arrested, Orangetown police said.
Stephen Hylas, 31, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a violation, on Sunday, March 20, police said.
According to police, Hylas swung his arms around and tried to flee the officer who was arresting him.
The officer sustained an elbow injury that required medical attention, police said.

N.J. Man Faces Assault Charges In Pearl River Case, Police Say
PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A New Jersey man being investigated in a criminal mischief case now faces assault and other charges, according to Orangetown police.
Michal Hrebik, 23, of Park Ridge, was arrested on Sunday, March 20, by officers who had been called to the scene of a damaged vehicle on Route 304 in Pearl River, police said.
Hrebik was identified as the suspect, but when police tried to cuff him, he flailed his arms, shoved officers, and refused to put his hands behind his back, police said.

Westchester Lawmaker Proposes New 30/30 Playland Deal
RYE, N.Y. -- Westchester County, and the company it is working with to revamp Playland, would each fork over $30 million under a new deal being floated by the county Board of Legislators' chairman, according to a report on lohud.com

Katonah Man, 25, Drove With Suspended License, Yorktown Police Say
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 25-year-old Katonah man is facing charges after he was pulled over on Crompond Road in Yorktown for failing to dim his headlights, police said.
Edward James Brady was arrested on Saturday, March 12, for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; and failing to dim his headlights, a traffic infraction, police said.
The first charge was based on Brady’s having previously had his driver’s license suspended three times, police said.
Brady was processed and released on $100 bail.
