Golden Corral To Break Ground On New Poughkeepsie Restaurant
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Ground is about to be broken for a new restaurant in Poughkeepsie, according to a report by The Poughkeepsie Journal.
Golden Corral, a buffet-style chain, will start building the eatery on Route 9 this Friday, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported.
Expected to create 125 jobs in the area, the restaurant is set to open in the late-summer, The Poughkeepsie Journal story said.

Man Charged With Using Heroin At McDonald’s In Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Milford man is facing drug charges after, police said, he walked out of the bathroom at a Bridgeport fast-food restaurant with a hypodermic syringe clenched between his teeth, according to The Connecticut Post.
Theodore DeLorenzo, 32, had the misfortune to bump into a Bridgeport police officer who was waiting to use the facilities at the McDonald’s on upper Main Street, The Connecticut Post said.
Police, who said DeLorenzo admitted to having heroin stashed in his pockets, charged him with drug possession among other things, The Connecticut Post said.

Dutchess, 16 Other Counties, To Share $13.3 Million In Gun-Violence Aid
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Law enforcement agencies in Dutchess, and 16 other counties, will get to share $13.3 million being handed out under a state gun-violence initiative, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced recently.
Now entering its second year, the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) program requires the use of proven strategies to reduce shootings and firearm-related homicides, Cuomo said.
The initiative gives law enforcement agencies the resources to “make communities across this state safer,” the governor said.

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Crowds at the Yonkers Brewery on Sunday, April 10, had a hair-razing experience watching local police officers and dozens of others have their heads shaved for charity, according to a report by lohud.com.
