Former Danbury Pet Shop Owner Pleads Innocent To Animal Cruelty Charges
DANBURY, Conn. -- A former Danbury pet shop owner has pleaded not guilty to performing an illegal medical procedure on a puppy, according to a report on WLAD.com.
An arrest warrant for Richard Doyle, 56, of Mahopac, N.Y., claims that he literally “tortured” the sick animal by attempting to drain a cyst, according to a report in the Danbury News-Times.
He was charged with animal cruelty and practicing veterinary medicine without a license, The News-Times story said.

STAMFORD, CONN. -- A Stamford man is facing assault and other charges after a woman told police he had attacked her with a knife on the city’s West Side late Monday night, April 11, according to a report by The Stamford Advocate.
Police said that Melvin Garcia, 21, had approached the woman on Victory Street for a cigarette, and, after being refused, struck her in the abdomen with the handle of a knife, The Stamford Advocate report said.

Woman Charged With Assault At Yorktown Gas Station
CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – A 45-year-old Norwalk, Connecticut woman faces charges in an alleged domestic incident that occurred Sunday, April 10, at a gas station on Route 202 in Cortlandt Manor, police said.
Jennifer P. Pastore was arrested at the Shell station and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, after, police said, she attacked another person.
That person was granted a temporary order of protection against Pastore, police said.
Pastore was processed and released on $2,500 bond and is to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, April 14.

Three Wappingers Falls Men Charged With Assaulting 17-Year-Old
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- A Wappingers Falls man has been charged with shooting a teenager in the head with a BB gun after a fight, state police said.
Marquett L. Ryans, 20, was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, police said.
Two days earlier Ryans had met the 17-year-old victim in a wooded area off Wenliss Terrace in the village where he, two others, and the teen got into a fight, police said.
