New Rochelle Mayor Backs Clinton For President
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle Noam Bramson is backing Chappaqua’s Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, according to his latest blogpost.
Bramson, citing the former secretary of state's experience, work ethic, “wide-ranging knowledge” and “steely resilience,” said Clinton is the most qualified candidate for the position of head of state.
On a personal level, Bramson said he found Clinton, a former U.S. senator from New York, to be “warm, engaging, responsive, and sincerely committed to public service.”

Parent University Workshops Help Mount Vernon Mom, Dads Cope
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Mount Vernon moms, dads and kids can learn yoga and meditation techniques on Saturday, April 16, at a workshop offered by Parent University.
The program runs from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Grimes Elementary School, 58 S. 10th Ave., Mount Vernon.
Parents will be provided with a free continental-style breakfast.
A healthy cooking demonstration will be held following the yoga/meditation class.

Two Workers Injured In Accident At Croton-Harmon Train Yard
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A 27-year-old Yonkers man was hospitalized Friday after he accidentally touched an electrified third rail at the Croton-Harmon train yard, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.
He and a 45-year-old Pleasant Valley man were working on a train early Friday morning when they both were injured, the MTA said.
The unidentified 45-year-old suffered first-degree, or superficial, burns. He was treated at the Westchester County Medical Center in Vahalla and released, the MTA said.

Easton Couple Sentenced To Probation For Selling Pain Pills
EASTON, CONN. -- An ailing Easton man got probation Friday for tricking numerous doctors out of prescriptions for painkillers, which he then sold for a profit, according to a report by The Connecticut Post.
Curtis Pistey, 56, and his wife, Joann, 55, ran a major pill operation that authorities say spurred heroin addictions in the community, The Connecticut Post reported.
Pistey gathered up prescriptions for OxyContin, methadone and other narcotics and filled them at the Norwalk Hospital Pharmacy, The Connecticut Post reported.
