Man Shot, Woman Stabbed In Yonkers, Police Say
YONKERS, N.Y. – Yonkers police are investigating a shooting and a stabbing that took place in the city over the weekend.An unidentified 25-year-old man was shot in the chest while he was standing outside 153 North Broadway around 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, police said.
He was taken to a local trauma center where he was reported to be in serious, but stable condition, police said.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old Yonkers woman was hospitalized with a stab wound to her chest on Saturday, Apeil 23, police said.
A 30-year-old man who was an acquaintance of the woman’s was arrested, police said.

Nyack Man Charged With Assault, Pearl River Man With Criminal Mischief
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A Nyack man is facing assault charges in connection with a domestic incident Friday, April 22, Orangetown police said
Roland A. King, 41, was arrested around 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Cedar streets after, police said, he got into an argument with a woman.
He was charged with third-degree assault and with resisting arrest, because he refused to be handcuffed, police said.
Both charges are misdemeanors, police said.
He is to appear at an unspecified date in Nyack Justice Court, police said.

New Rochelle Track Star Huerta Commits To St. Thomas Aquinas College
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle High School is congratulating one of its seniors, Jennyfer Huerta, for winning a full academic and athletic scholarship to St. Thomas Aquinas College.
Huerta, a runner who is graduating this spring, just signed a letter of intent to attend the private, four-year liberal arts college in Rockland.
On hand at the signing ceremony were Huerta's parents, track teammates, coach Andy Capellan, and Steve Young, the district’s director of athletics.
Huerta is its sixth student athlete to sign a letter of intent this year, school officials said.
