Aide At Yorktown Center For Disabled Charged With Slapping Autistic Man
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- An aide at a facility for disabled people in Yorktown has been charged with slapping an autistic resident there, police said.
Yvonne B. Ingram, 53, of the Bronx, was arrested Friday, May 13, in connection with an incident at the Richmond Children’s Center in Mohegan Lake the day before, police said.
She was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, police said.
Staff at the center told police Ingram slapped and pushed a client with autism.
A temporary order of protection was issued against Ingram, police said.

$87M Somers School Budget Passes; $13.6M Repairs Bond Also Gets OK
SOMERS, N.Y. -- Somers voters have approved a 2016-17 school budget of $87 million, schools Superintendent Dr. Raymond H. Blanch said Wednesday.
They passed the spending plan on Tuesday 922 to 303.
The $86,901,751 budget represents an increase of .33 percent.
While the tax levy of $74,673,878 actually decreased by .03 percent, the new tax rate of $157.94 reflects an increase of .57 percent.
