Garfield YMCA Plans 5K In Honor Of Former Teacher GARFIELD, N.J.– A 5-kilometer race has been scheduled for October in memory of a Garfield YMCA teacher who died in May after a fight with breast cancer. The Garfield YMCA Boilermaker 5K will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, in memory of Susan "Suzie" Gallagher-Colurciello. She was a pre-school teacher at the Garfield YMCA and sister of Chief Executive Officer Patricia Gallagher. Gallagher-Colurciello died at age 49 in May. Greenwich Paratriathlete Finishes 5th At World Championships GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich paratriathlete Amy Dixon finished fifth Sunday in her division at the ITU World Championships in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Dixon finished fifth in the sprint distance race, where she was the top American. Competing with guide Susanne Martineau Davis, Dixon completed the race in 1:19:01. “I may not have physically executed the race I wanted, but I flawlessly executed the race I got out of my body on THAT day,’’ Dixon said. “Was it my best race physically? 5 Wilton Running Club Athletes Heading To Junior Olympic Nationals WILTON, Conn. -- Five athletes from the Wilton Running Club qualified for the Junior Olympic National Track and Field Championship, which will be held this week in Sacramento, Calif. Each athlete qualified by placing in the top five in their events at the Region Championship held earlier this month in Albany, N.Y.
