An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Armed Man Apprehended Following Pursuit: Jersey City Police A 30-year-old man was arrested in Jersey City on Saturday, Oct. 28 for being armed with a firearm following a pursuit with police, authorities said. At 2:23 a.m. police attempted to stop Byron Harrison at 169 Monticello Ave. Harrison fled the scene police gave chase, eventually apprehending Harrison, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. Harrison was charged with several weapons offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon, and for being in possession of several controlled substances, Wallace-Scalfione said.

Woman Arrested For Newark Carjacking That Triggered Amber Alert: Police (Updated) Shanita Rose, a 40-year-old Newark resident was arrested on Friday, Nov. 3 for carjacking a vehicle with a child inside on Tuesday, Oct. 31, resulting in an AMBER Alert being issued, authorities said. At 8:13 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a 2017 silver-colored Hyundai Sonata was carjacked, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Westfield Students Made Ai-generated Nude Images Of Female Classmates: Officials The Westfield School District said it is investigating after male students made AI-generated nude images of their female classmates. Mary Ann McGann, a spokeswoman for the district, said the incident took place over the summer and was brought to the attention of administrators on Friday, Oct. 20. Three Car Burglars Apprehended: Summit PD Three people were arrested after breaking into a vehicle and stealing items on Thursday, Nov. 2, Summit police said. At 5:14 p.m., police responded to Blackburn Place after a resident their purse and two mobile phones were taken from an unlocked Toyota Highlander parked in the driveway., officers said. Man Struck By Newark Fire Truck: Police A man was struck by a fire truck on Newark on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 2, authorities said. The adult male pedestrian was near Summit Street and Warren Street when he was hit at 7:47 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Death Of Husky Probed As 'Criminal Matter:' West Milford PD A $1,000 reward has offered after a male husky was found dead in the woods on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 26, West Milford police said. Burglars Stole Car, Attempted Home Break-In: Verona PD Verona police are looking for two people who attempted to break into a home on Friday, Oct. 27, before fleeing in a stolen vehicle.
