Two Jersey City Men Busted After Handgun Found: Bayonne PD Two Jersey City residents were arrested on Saturday, Oct. 28 after Bayonne police discovered a handgun in a vehicle, authorities said. At 1:17 a.m., police observed a Chevrolet Malibu commit numerous traffic violations near East 53rd Street, officers said. Carjacker Who Triggered Amber Alert Sought By NJ Cops (Photos) Newark police are attempting to locate the person who carjacked a vehicle with a 3-year-old inside on Tuesday, Oct. 31, triggering an AMBER alert. 16-Year-Old Tossed Fireworks At Jersey City Police: Authorities A 16-year-old was arrested and charged after he tossed fireworks at police attempting to break up a group of street racers on Sunday, Oct. 29, authorities said. 3-Year-Old Found Safe In Jersey City After Amber Alert Issued Out of Newark (Photos) A 3-year-old was found unharmed in Jersey City after an AMBER alert was issued out of Newark on Tuesday, Oct. 31. At 8:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a vehicle was carjacked with the child left inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. At 10:30 a.m., police found the vehicle in Jersey City with the child inside and unharmed, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation.

Man Fatally Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle: Irvington PD Bernard Jones, a 70-year-old East Orange man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Irvington on Saturday, Oct. 28, authorities said. At 10:07 p.m., police responded to Clinton Avenue and Linden Avenue after being alerted to the crash, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. NJ Dairy Queen Operator Violated Child Labor, Wage Regulations: Feds A New Jersey Dairy Queen franchise owner is facing a blizzard of fines. The U.S. Department of Labor has determined Kostantine Menegatos, who operated four DQs in the Garden State, violated federal child labor and wage regulations, forcing him to pay $14,000 in penalties and more than $9,000 in back wages. Menegatos failed to pay one employee minimum wage and did not pay 14 workers time and a half overtime premium for working more than 40 hours in a work week, the DOL said.
