Fatal Teen Crashes On Rise In CT, Report Shows The number of fatal teen driver crashes in Connecticut reached its highest point in over a decade last year, according to a new analysis from AAA Northeast. In 2022, there were 33 fatal crashes involving teenage drivers in Connecticut – the highest since 2007, when there were 48 fatal teen driver crashes, the report found. That increase parallels a growing number of people killed in teen driver crashes nationwide. Weapon On School Grounds: BOE Security Guard Charged In Newtown A Fairfield County Board of Education "unarmed" security guard was charged with allegedly having a firearm in his vehicle. The incident took place around 8 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 at Newtown High School. Lt. Promise Kept: Hudson Valley Man Charged Twice In 30 Days For Selling Drugs Just a month after being busted for allegedly selling drugs in the Hudson Valley, a local man is back behind bars after he was caught again. Dutchess County resident Michael Graham, age 37, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Det. Sgt. 20 Cows Die In Newtown Tractor-Trailer Rollover Crash On I-84 Twenty cows died during a rollover crash of a tractor-trailer on I-84 in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Newtown around 3:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 near Exit 10, said the Connecticut State Police. State Police said the tractor-trailer was carrying 44 live cows and the state Department of Agriculture and Department of Transportation were called to the scene, as was DEEP due to a fuel spill. CT Man Arrested After Seen Kissing 10-Year-Old Boy, Police Say A 44-year-old Connecticut man has been charged after he was allegedly seen on video kissing a 10-year-old boy. New Haven County resident William Gordon, of Naugatuck, was charged on Saturday, Oct. 14 after police responded to a home for a complaint made by a parent. Norwalk Vape Shop Busted For Selling Marijuana Products, Police Say A Fairfield County vape shop has been busted for allegedly selling marijuana products. The bust was made in Norwalk at the Smoke House Vape Shop on Connecticut Avenue by the Norwalk Police Special Services Division with the State of Connecticut Consumer Protection Drug Control Division on Thursday, Oct. 12. Body Of 20-Year-Old Man Found In Stamford, Police Call Death 'Suspicious' Police are calling the death "suspicious" after a 20-year-old Hispanic man was found in a grassy area in Fairfield County. The man was found in Stamford around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 near the pathway that connects Woodland Avenue and Walter Wheeler Drive. Capt. Hudson Valley Woman Busted With Drugs, Driving While High Following One-Car Crash, Police Say A Hudson Valley woman was nabbed for alleged cocaine possession following a single-vehicle crash. The incident took place in Dutchess County in LaGrange on Wednesday, Oct. 11, said Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. According to Hicks, troopers responded to a rollover crash around 12:45 a.m. on the Taconic State Parkway near mile marker No. 48.
