She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. 33-Year-Old Intoxicated Man Brandishes Gun At CT Mall, Police Say A 33-year-old Connecticut man allegedly high on some type of drug, was apprehended by police after walking through a busy mall with an exposed firearm. New Haven County resident Victor Ayala Jr., of Meriden, was nabbed by police on a scooter with a gun in plain sight on the handlebars on Saturday, Nov. 25. According to Meriden Police, around 2:30 p.m., Meriden Mall security called police to report Ayala in the mall carrying an exposed handgun. Suspect Escapes In SUV After Armed Home Invasion, Attempted Robbery In Bridgeport, Police Say Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help after a man allegedly broke into a home and attempted to rob the resident with a handgun. The incident took place in Bridgeport on Sunday, Nov. 26 around 7 a.m. on the 200 block of Berkshire Avenue. Fatal Crash: 46-Year-Old CT Woman Found In Wooded Area In Jeep By Resident A 46-year-old Connecticut woman was found dead inside an overturned Jeep by a resident walking in the area. New Haven County resident Jessica Ciola, of Bethany, was found around 11:20 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25 in the area of North Pease Road in Woodbridge. Ciola was discovered by a resident in the Jeep which was off the road, severely damaged, and partially overturned, said the Woodbridge Police. She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. Vicious Domestic Attack Leads To Arrest Of CT Man, Police Say A 25-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with assault after allegedly viciously attacking another person during a domestic dispute. The incident took place in New Haven County in Milford on Wednesday, Nov. 15 on Boston Post Road. Drug-Dealing Duo Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Police Say Two Dutchess County alleged drug dealers have been charged with the criminal sale of controlled substances after an investigation by a drug task force. Dutchess County residents Tyrese Elting, age 24, of the town of Poughkeepsie, and Brandon Mima, age 20, from the city of Poughkeepsie were arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 14 during separate raids by the Dutchess County Task Force. Man From Region Charged By US Capitol Police For Assaulting Officers In Washington, DC A man from the region was charged with assault on a police officer during an event in Washington, DC, to protest the conflict in the Middle East. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed Using Fake ID, Police Say A Hudson Valley was charged with criminal impersonation for allegedly using a fake identification and name when he was stopped by state police. Orange County resident Umran Z. Haider, age 32, of Pine Bush, a hamlet of Crawford, was stopped in Essex County in the town of Malone driving a 2006 gray Toyota Sequoia. CT Man With 10 Warrants For Fleeing From Police Nabbed After Chase, Police Say A Connecticut man with 10 warrants for his arrest fled from police when he was spotted and ran over stop sticks in his Corvette. The incident took place in New Haven County in Milford on Thursday, Nov. 16 in the parking lot of the boat ramp area on Naugatuck Avenue. Stamford Man Nailed For DUI After Darien Crash, Police Say A Fairfield County man was charged with DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane after crashing his vehicle into a telephone pole. Armando Romero, age 60, of Stamford, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 12 following the crash in the area of 140 Ledge Road in Darien. According to Sgt. Drug Sales Tip Lead To Arrest Of Hudson Valley Man, Police Say A Hudson Valley alleged drug dealer was busted after an investigation into drug sales in the region. The incident took place in Ulster County on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
