Kiyon Matheney, age 26, of New Haven, was sentenced on Tuesday, Dec.12, to 33 years in prison for the fatal shooting of John Tubac-Saquil of New Haven in July 2022. Failure To Maintain Lane Leads To DUI Charge For Danbury Man In Wilton: Police A Fairfield County man was nabbed for allegedly driving under the influence after he was seen not maintaining his lane of travel. Edward Turner, age 57, of Danbury, was stopped by Wilton Police around 2:15 a.m., Friday, Dec. 8 in his gray 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. According to Lt. Anna Tornello of the Wilton Police, Turner was stopped after police spotted him failing to maintain his lane of travel on Danbury Road. The incident took place in Ulster County around 8:40 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 in the town of Hurly. According to Sgt. Collin Reynolds of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, William Williams, age 65, of Highland, was arrested after deputies attempted to stop him and he sped away at a high rate of speed before crashing into a wooded area in the town of Rosendale. Norwalk Sex Offender Nabbed For Not Registering 11 Times, Police Say A Fairfield County sex offender has been charged with allegedly failing to register 11 times over a 2-and-a-half-year period. Maurice Thomas-Riley, age 28, of Norwalk, was charged on Thursday, Dec. 14 with 11 counts of violating the notification, said Norwalk Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts. The investigation stemmed from the Connecticut State Police Sex Offender Registry Unit notifying the Norwalk Police of the violations, Evarts said.  Thomas-Riley is being held on a $75,000 bond.
