Albany Police said they tried stopping the driver near First and Judson streets at around 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, but he refused to stop. When the officer activated their emergency lights, the teen reportedly drove north on Judson Street at a high rate of speed before striking several cars near Livingston Avenue. Lifelong Rensselaer County resident James “Jimmy” Mantello, of Troy, died suddenly at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, May 28, according to his obituary.
