New Canaan Woman Charged With DUI After Seen Swerving On Road, Police Say A local woman has been accused of driving under the influence after she was stopped for driving erratically and without lights in Fairfield County, police said. Tonya Kathleen Gwynn, age 76, was arrested in New Canaan on Sunday, July 23 when an officer spotted her driving on South Avenue near Farm Road with no lights and operating erratically, said police. Person Hit, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley A person was hit and killed by an MTA train in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 9:55 p.m., Monday, July 24, east of Dutch Lane in Spring Valley, according to a spokesman with the Metropolitan Transporation Authority. The unidentified person was on the tracks at the time of the incident, the MTA said. The victim was transported to an area hospital where the person later died. The identity of the person has not yet been released. The MTA Police Department is investigating the crash. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Shooting At CT Street Racing Gathering Leads To Investigation, Search For Witnesses Police in Connecticut are investigating and searching for witnesses after one person was shot during a street racing event. The incident took place in New Haven around 2:30 a.m., Sunday, July 23 at Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and Printers Lane. Norwalk Man Found Guilty Of Killing 34-Year-Old Father Of 6 A man who was angry over a beating at the hands of gang members and fired shots out of a car killed an innocent father of six in Fairfield County has been found guilty of manslaughter. State Attorney Joseph T. Corradino announced on Monday, July 24 that a jury in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday, July 20, found David Shavers, age 28, of Norwalk, guilty of manslaughter and other crimes. Missing: Silver Alert Issued For 22-Year-Old CT Man Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help locating a man who has been missing for more than a day. A 2-year-old boy who died after falling from a third-floor window is one of five children who were allegedly living in "deplorable and uninhabitable" conditions at a Connecticut residence.
