She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

West Nile Virus: First Human Case Of Season Confirmed In CT Woman The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) announced a Connecticut woman has tested positive for the first case of the West Nile virus this year. The woman is a resident of New Haven County and is between 50 and 59 years old, DPH said. She became ill during the third week of July with West Nile fever and has since recovered. CT Door Dash Driver Shot During Attempted Carjacking, Police Say A Connecticut Door Dash driver is recovering after being shot during an alleged carjacking after delivering food. The incident took place in New Haven around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16 in the area of Ferry Street and Pierpont Street. According to Capt. Man Who Hit Hudson Valley Teen In Head With Hammer Convicted, DA Says A Hudson Valley who hit a teen in the head with a hammer, fracturing his skull, has been found guilty of attempted murder and assault by a jury. Orange County resident, Shawn Beach, age 43, of Port Jervis, was convicted on Friday, Aug. 18, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. Man Found Lying On Hudson Valley Roadway Dies In Hit-Run-Crash, Police Say Police are investigating after a man was found lying unconscious on a Hudson Valley roadway beside a vehicle that had a flat tire. Orange County resident Walter Weiser, age 65, of Monroe, was found around 7:50 a.m., Friday, Aug. 18 on Old Little Britain Road near Unity Place in the town of Newburgh. Home Invasion: CT Man Breaks Down Door To Gain Entry, Police Say A Connecticut man was charged with home invasion after breaking down a door to gain entry into a home. The incident took place in New Haven County around 3 a.m., Monday, Aug. 14 in Naugatuck. According to the Naugatuck Police, officers were called to a local home after Marquis Cordero, age 33, broke down the door following a domestic dispute earlier in the evening. Man Caught With Machete At Danbury Elementary School, Police Say A Fairfield County man was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon after he allegedly jumped a fence at an elementary school carrying a machete. The incident occurred in Danbury on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Ellsworth Avenue School, at 53 Ellsworth Ave. According to Erin Henry with the Danbury Police, officers responded to the school for a report of a person trespassing on school property with a machete. 15-Year-Old Dies After Fall From Window In Hudson Valley A 15-year-old Hudson Valley teen has died after falling out of a second-floor window of an apartment. The incident took place in Orange County at 4 Edward Diana Way, Apt. 60 in the town of Wallkill. According to Wallkill Deputy Chief of Police Antonino Spano, officers responded to a report of a person that fell from a window.
