36-Year-Old Killed In Crash After Hitting Motorcycle Lying In Roadway A 36-year-old Connecticut man was killed after hitting another vehicle that had crashed. It happened in Hartford County around 10:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 3 in Wethersfield. According to Connecticut State Police, Taj Andre Beckford, of Bloomfield, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Route 5/15 just north of the on-ramp for Route 314 when he hit another motorcycle lying in the roadway, but not the driver identified as Jordan Barnes, age 20, of Newington. New Update: Police Ask Public's Help In Probe Of 'Keep CT White' Social Media Post Police are asking the public's help as they continue to investigate a social media posting by a white supremacist group gathered on a street corner holding flares and a sign saying "Keep CT White." Danbury Cracks Down On Businesses Selling Alcohol To Minors In an effort to cut down on underage drinking and determine compliance with state law a Fairfield County police force conducted a check of 47 businesses that sell alcohol. On Friday, Aug. 25, Danbury Police officers along with the Connecticut Department of Liquor Control conducted unannounced inspections of the businesses located within the city. Drowning: Woman Dies After Being Found In Family Member's Pool In Shelton A woman found unresponsive in a pool at a Fairfield County home later died. The incident took place in Shelton on Sunday, Sept. 3 around 4:15 p.m. at a home on Huntington Street. According to Det. Richard Bango of the Shelton Police, a family member arrived home and found the 68-year-old woman unresponsive in the pool. The woman, who has not been identified, was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport where she was pronounced dead, Bango said. Task Force Bust: Hudson Valley Man Nabbed With Drugs, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been charged with alleged criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell following an investigation by an area drug task force. Dutchess County resident Alonzo Newman, age 35, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 1, in Poughkeepsie. Newman was arrested following a warrant search at his home related to ongoing narcotic sales in the Poughkeepsie area, said Det. Adam Harris, of the task force. Lotto Jackpot: $9.6 Million Winning Ticket Sold In Hudson Valley Someone is having a great Labor Day weekend after purchasing a winning $9.6 million New York Lotto ticket in the Hudson Valley. Fentanyl Dealer Busted By Drug Task Force In Hudson Valley, Police Say An alleged drug dealer has been busted by a drug task force for selling fentanyl throughout the Hudson Valley. Restaurant Burglar Caught In Act In Hudson Valley, Police Say A Hudson Valley man who allegedly broke into a restaurant and burglarized it was caught in the act by police who found the door smashed and the suspect inside. Violent Gang Members Nabbed Stealing From Hudson Valley Home Depots, Police Say Three men who are part of a violent street gang have been charged with stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise from Home Depot stores on several occasions in the Hudson Valley. Dui-related Crash Seriously Injures 2 On I-84, CT Man Charged A Connecticut man was charged with DUI following a two-vehicle crash on I-84 that seriously injured two. The crash took place in Hartford County around 11 p.m. on I-84 in the town of Southington on Saturday, Aug. 26.
