Hackensack Police, Firefighters Build Hoagies For Charity At Wawa Opening
HACKSENSACK, N.J. -- It was mayo and mustard at 20 paces as Hackensack’s finest and bravest built hoagies in a food fight for charity at the opening of the city’s new Wawa convenience store.“The lettuce was flying,” said the store’s general manager, Stephen Klunder, after the grand opening Friday at 505 S. River St.
In the end, it was a squeaker, with the police department coming out on top in the three-minute contest with 42 sandwiches, and the fire department with 41, Klunder said.

LaGrange Association Library's Book Sale Continues
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Friends of LaGrange Association Library will have its holiday better book sale through Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Books, CDS, and more will be available at the library, 488 Freedom Plains Road (Route 55), Suite 109, Poughkeepsie.
The library’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-8 p.m. Fridays and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

Jewish Board Dedicates New Treatment Center In Honor Of Greenwich Couple
HAWTHORNE, N.Y. – The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services formally renamed its treatment facility in Hawthorne on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and honored the man who has dedicated much of his life to the organization.
Linden Hill, a 64-bed residence for adolescents with severe psychiatric conditions, is now called The Mann Center, after Anthony E. Mann and his wife Sally.
The Manns live in Greenwich, Conn., with their four children: Alexandra, Isabelle, Strauss, and Georgia.
