New Canaan Schools Earn Spot On AP Honor Roll NEW CANAAN, CONN. -- New Canaan schools have earned a place on the College Board’s AP Honor Roll, according to schools Superintendent Bryan Luizzi. The district is among 425 others that have won the distinction, he said. To get on the roll, school districts have to show that they’ve not only increased access to AP course work, but have maintained or increased the number of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams. Born in Bronxville, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Victor and Lorraine Theriot of Greenwich. Stisser graduated from Greenwich High School and Southern Connecticut State University. Teaneck Dog Owners, There's Still Time To Avoid License Late Fees TEANECK, N.J. -- The Teaneck Health Department is reminding pet owners that it’s not too late to renew their dog’s licenses without being penalized. Dog licenses expired on Thursday, Dec. 31, but owners have until Monday, Feb. 29, to renew them without getting hit by a fine. The fee is $13 for dogs which are not spayed or neutered, and $10 for those that are spayed or neutered. A late fee of $15 will be added on Thursday, March 1. Police received a call around 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, from a man working on Greenway Road who said he had just seen a teenager running with a street sign in his arms. Women's Rights, Other New Laws, To Take Effect In New York Dozens of new laws will take effect in New York in January, including one that protects women’s rights in the workplace and in domestic violence cases, according to a report in lohud. Lohud also reported that the state Legislature passed, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed, close to 600 bills in 2015 addressing issues such as the minimum wage, breastfeeding mothers, access to child-abuse records in missing children cases, and cuts in corporate taxes.
