Bridgeport Promotes Police Officer Who Was Fired, Re-Hired
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A Bridgeport police officer, who had been fired and then re-hired, has been promoted to sergeant, according to a report in the ctpost.
Christine Burns was ousted in 2011 in connection with a cover-up of a car crash involving another police officer, who also happened to be her boyfriend, the ctpost story said, citing a police commission report.
A state arbitrator ordered Burns, then a lieutenant, reinstated, but she was demoted to patrol officer, the ctpost reported.

Suffern Man Charged With Credit Card Theft
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old Suffern man wanted on charges of possession of stolen property has been arrested, police said.
Michael Saul's arrest stems from the theft of a credit card from a car parked in the Bon Aire section of the village in May, according to a post on the police department’s Facebook page.
Possession of stolen property is a felony, said police Chief Clarke Osborn.
The suspect, who was wanted on a warrant, was arrested at his home on Thursday, Jan. 14, arraigned, and released on bail, police said.
