Man Involved In Fatal Crash Faces More Burglary Charges In Trumbull BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A 20-year-old Bridgeport man has been charged in a series of burglaries in Bridgeport and Trumbull, police told The Trumbull Times. Geraldo Maldonado, who had had been arrested in February in connection with a break-in on Sunnycrest Road in Trumbull, was later linked to the others, The Trumbull Times reported. Police said he is facing more charges of burglary, criminal mischief, larceny and possession of burglar’s tools, according to The Trumbull Times report. Mohegan Lake Man, 23, Charged In Criminal Mischief Case YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Mohegan Lake man wanted for failing to appear in court on a criminal mischief charge was arrested Tuesday in Yorktown, police said. Richard E. Dunne, 23, was arrested outside of Ivy Knolls Park by police who were called there by a resident suspecting drug activity. Dunne was processed and turned over to the Westchester County Department of Corrections with no bail, police said. He is to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, May 12.

Grant Helps Peekskill Students Catch Broadway Show PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Students from the Peekskill’s Summit Academy were able to catch a play on Broadway recently thanks to a grant. The student saw “Eclipsed,” a play that stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as a woman held captive by rebels during the Liberian civil war. The students took the train into the city where they had lunch in Bryant Park and visited the New York Public Library before heading off to the theater. The grant came from the Broadway Alliance. Summit Academy is an alternative learning program for high school students and is based at the Uriah Hill School.

Pomona Animal Shelter Introduces 'Bam' As Pet Of The Week POMONA, N.Y. -- Bam, a pit bull mix, is Hi Tor Animal Shelter’s pet of the week. The 1½ -year-old male was given up for adoption because his owners had too many pets, the Pomona shelter said. Bam is an “absolute doll” who gets along with other dogs -- and sometimes cats, it said. He also is good with children, very affectionate, and loves to give slobbery kisses, the shelter said.
