Darien Homeowner Reports Theft Of Nearly $30K In Jewelry DARIEN, Conn. -- Jewelry valued at nearly $30,000 was reported stolen from a Darien home earlier this month. The Darien Times reported thieves took approximately $27,000 in jewelry from a home on Wildcat Road. The victim told police she stored a box with jewelry on June 16 before leaving for a trip. The box was missing when she returned on June 20. She reported the theft on July 11, believing she had misplaced the box. Walden Man, 22, Forcibly Touched Girl While She Was Sleeping, Police Say WALDEN, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old Walden man was arrested by New York State Police in Montgomery for inappropriate conduct with a woman who was sleeping. David L. Matos faces a criminal sexual assault felony charge and misdemeanor for forcible touching. Police said Matos subjected a woman to inappropriate and unwanted sexual contact while she was sleeping. Matos was issued an appearance ticket and is to return to the Village of Walden Court on Aug. 10.

Alert Issued For Missing Woman Who Could Be In Hudson Valley Suffolk County police issued an alert Wednesday night for a missing 56-year-old woman who could be in the Hudson Valley.Laura Gines, 56, who is developmentally disabled, was last seen in Central Islip in Suffolk County, at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20.  People with information should contact the Suffolk County P.D. Third Precinct at (631) 852-6000 . She was last seen wearing a floral shirt, red pants or shorts, and sneakers. She may be in need of medical attention.
