CT Man Sexually Assaults, Robs Woman, 65, On Walking Trail, Police Say A Connecticut man is in custody after allegedly throwing a 65-year-old woman down on a hiking trail sexually assaulting her and taking her purse and cell phone before the victim was able to fight him off. The incident took place in Hartford County in Manchester on Wednesday, Oct. 4 on the hiking trail near Charter Oak Park. According to Lt. Darien Resident Victim Of $45K Phone Scam, Police Say A Fairfield County resident lost $45,000 after falling victim to a phone scam. The incident took place in Darien around 11:50 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 29. A Darien Police officer met with the victim in regard to the phone scam that had taken place the day before. The victim told officers she received a phone call from a man claiming to be an employee of her bank. CT Man Struck, Killed By Hit-Run Driver, Police Say A 34-year-old Connecticut man was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver along a busy city street. The crash took place in Hartford around 11:30 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 5 in the area of Hamilton Street, just east of Hillside Avenue. Video Surveillance Nabs 6 Teens Burglarizing Darien Home Under Construction, Police Say Six teens were nabbed allegedly burglarizing a home under construction in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Darien around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. According to Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police, officers responded to a Middlesex Road residence on a report of an active residential burglary/trespassing incident. Hudson Valley Man On Probation For Selling Drugs, Busted Again, Police Say A Hudson Valley man who was on probation for drug offenses is back behind bars after being nabbed allegedly selling drugs again. Dutchess County resident David Brooks Jr., age 22, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was picked up at his probation officer's office on Thursday, Oct. 5. Man, 41, Charged With Manslaughter Of Stamford Woman, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with manslaughter in the Sept. 2022 death of his girlfriend following an investigation. Anthony Ray Vines, Jr., age 41, of Stamford, was charged on Friday, Oct. 6 with one count of manslaughter with a firearm for the homicide of Mary Stephanie Guirand. Greenwich Woman Found Dead In Stamford Park A 54-year-old Fairfield County woman who was found dead in a busy park likely died from a drug overdose, police said. The incident took place in Stamford in Mianus River Park around 8:50 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 5. Hudson Valley Man Found Guilty Of 5 Counts Of Child Rape A 32-year-old man from the region has been found guilty by a jury of five counts of rape and three counts of criminal sexual act. Ulster County resident Charles Burgher, of Highland, was found guilty on Thursday, Oct. 5 in Kingston.
