CT Woman Killed In Hit-Run Crash, Driver Caught, Police Say A Connecticut woman attempting to cross a street to get to her home was struck and killed by an alleged hit-and-run driver. The incident took place in Hartford County in New Britain around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the area of South Main Street. According to New Britain Deputy Police Chief Adam Rembisz, Brenda Catucci, age 62, of New Britain, was crossing the roadway when she was hit by a passing vehicle. Woman Rescued After 25-Foot Fall Down Embankment In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley woman who fell more than 25 feet down an embankment was rescued by police and firefighters. The incident took place in Orange County around 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2 in Port Jervis near the Mid-Delaware Bridge and the Delaware River. Port Jervis Police officers responded to the area of Pike Street and Water Street near the bridge for a 911 report of a woman calling for help, the department said. Road Closure Alert For Bridge Construction On I-95 In Westport The Connecticut Department of Transportation says motorists should be ready for road closures, detours, and slow traffic on I-95 this weekend due to construction work. The closures and detours will run from Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. through 6 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 at the I-95 southbound, Saugatuck Avenue (Route 33), on and off-ramps to I-95 northbound and I-95 southbound off-ramp at Exit 17 in Westport. Norwalk Man Nabbed With Gun Following Shots Fired Incident, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with criminal possession of a firearm for allegedly firing shots during a disturbance with people in the area. Jose Geovany Merino-Mejia, age 45, of Norwalk, was charged on Friday, Nov. 3 for the incident that took place on Saturday, Oct. 28 in the area of Lexington Avenue. Whoops: Woman Drives Into Front Of Popular Hudson Valley Deli, Police Say A 70-year-old woman is okay after driving into the front of a popular Hudson Valley deli. The crash took place in Rockland County in Sloatsburg around 6 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 2. According to Ramapo police, the woman failed to stop her 2019 Hyundai and drove into the front of the Spring Street Deli located at 59 Orange Turnpike. Man Accused Of Running Prostitution Ring Of Children At Hudson Valley Eatery A man has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child by attempting to promote prostitution out of a coffee shop in the Hudson Valley. Greene County resident David J. Bacucci, age 42, of the hamlet of Purling, was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 1 by the New York State Police along with the Village of Goshen Police Department and the Orange County Child Abuse Unit. Hudson Valley Man, 28, Admits To Having Oral Sex With Child A 28-year-old Hudson Valley man faces years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of criminal sexual act for having oral sex with a child under the age of 13. Orange County resident Trevon Hudson, of Middletown, made the guilty plea on Monday, Oct. 30. According to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, his office will recommend that Hudson be sentenced to 15 years in state prison and 10 years of post-release supervision when he is sentenced next year. JCPenney Employee Nabbed In Trumbull For Larceny Is Wanted Sex Offender, Police Say A JCPenney employee charged with larceny in Fairfield County was wanted out of state for sex crimes against children. During the arrest on Saturday, Oct. 28, Trumbull Police found that Joshua Jaheem Bell, age 18, of Bridgeport also had an outstanding extraditable arrest warrant for sex crimes against children in Colorado. Traveler Nabbed With Loaded Gun In Sneakers At LaGuardia Airport A traveler was arrested by police after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers spotted a handgun and loaded gun magazine concealed inside a pair of sneakers packed inside a checked bag.
