Drug Dealer Nabbed By State Police During Raid In Bridgeport, Cops Say A Fairfield County alleged drug dealer was nabbed during a raid by the Connecticut State Police in conjunction with numerous local agencies and the statewide Narcotics Unit. Carl L. Brooks Jr., age 29, of Bridgeport, was busted on Tuesday, Nov. 7, around 5 a.m. at an address on Nob Hill Circle. Racial Slur Found On Bathroom Wall Of Hudson Valley Elementary School, Officials Say School officials in a Hudson Valley district are investigating after a racial epithet was found written in a bathroom at an elementary school. The incident occurred in Rockland County in Valley Cottage at Liberty Elementary School on Thursday, Nov. 2. According to Superintendent of Nyack Public Schools Susan Yom, the "N-word" was found on a bathroom wall. CT Caregiver Critical After 30-Foot Fall While Raking Leaves A Connecticut woman is in critical condition after falling off a 30-foot cliff while raking leaves. The incident took place in New London County on Sunday, Nov. 5 around 1 p.m. in Mystic behind a Quarry Road home. According to Stonington Police Assitant Chief Todd Olson, the department received a call from a woman in her 90s who reported that her caregiver was missing. Guy Fieri Teaming With Popular Stratford Brewery On New Offering Food Network star Guy Fieri has made numerous visits to Connecticut in an effort to perfect a new spiked malt beverage developed with a Fairfield County brewery. New Update: ID Released For Woman Found Dead Behind American Legion In Bridgeport Police in Fairfield County have released the name of a woman who was found dead by a dumpster in an American Legion parking lot. Suspicious Death: Woman's Body Found Behind American Legion In Bridgeport Rickeyta Shantise Baker, age 37, of Bridgeport, was found in Bridgeport around 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at 1028 Stratford Ave. According to Capt. Trio Nabbed In Hudson Valley With Illegal Gun After Dispute, Cops Say Three men were charged with alleged possession of an illegal handgun after a dispute in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Orange County in the village of Maybrook around 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. The gun was discovered after the town of Montgomery Police responded to Rakov Road in Maybrook for a reported dispute with a gun, said Chief John Hank of the Montgomery Police. Blaze Breaks Out At Fairfield Fire Department A group of Fairfield County firefighters received the call all dreaded, a blaze at their own station. Norwalk Deputy Fire Marshal Dies At Age 47 A much beloved Fairfield County fire marshall has died after a short battle with cancer. Norwalk Deputy Fire Marshal Luca Feola was 47. He died on Thursday, Nov. 2, said Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling. Feola served in the Norwalk Fire Department for nearly 20 years. He started as a firefighter in 2004 and was promoted to Deputy Fire Marshal in 2011. Feola grew up in Norwalk and was well-loved by the Norwalk Fire Department and the larger community, Rilling said.
