CT Colleges Face Large Cuts To Services, Price Hikes As Funding Disappears Colleges and regional universities across Connecticut are expecting a $140 million deficit next year now that pandemic-era funds are drying up, the CT Mirror reports. 27-Year-Old Hudson Valley Woman Accused Of Kidnapping Baby A 27-year-old woman from the region who was fighting with her partner has been accused of kidnapping a baby. Dutchess County resident Ashley M. Hernandez, of Hyde Park, was charged on Sunday, Nov. 12, for kidnapping and child endangerment following the incident at the Golden Manor Motel on Albany Post Road in the town of Hyde Park. Serial Burglar Of Hudson Valley Cemeteries, Synagogue Nabbed, Police Say A New York man has been charged with five separate alleged burglaries that occurred in the Hudson Valley over the past three months. Maurice Deutsch, age 40, of Brooklyn, was arrested by the Ramapo Police on Friday, Nov. 10, for the burglaries that took place in Rockland County in the village of New Hempstead and the Monsey area. Stamford 7-Hour Standoff Ends After Man Threatening Others Surrenders, Police Say A 36-year-old Fairfield County man threatening harm to others was charged with reckless endangerment after holding police at bay for more than seven hours. The incident occurred in Stamford around 7:38 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 11 on High Ridge Road. According to Capt. Trump has died while in hospice care in New York, a source with direct knowledge told Daily Voice early Monday morning, Nov. 13. Maryanne Trump Barry, a Queens native and retired federal judge, died over the weekend from cancer while in hospice care in New York City, the source said. She was 86. 1 Person Burned During Westport House Fire One person received burns to their hands while attempting to put out a house fire in Fairfield County.
