Woman Killed, 3-Year-Old Child In Hospital Following CT Crash A woman is dead and a 3-year-old child is in the hospital following a serious crash in Connecticut. The collision occurred in Middlesex County around 7:45 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11 in Middletown on South Main Street in the area of Round Hill Road. According to Middletown Police Chief Erik Costa, a black sedan was traveling north on South Main Street and struck the rear of a tow truck traveling north as well. Officers located a 3-year-old child in the rear of the sedan and a woman trapped in the driver’s seat. The child had no obvious injuries but the woman was unresponsive, Costa said. …

'Predatory, Grooming Behavior' Leads To Firing Of Bethel HS Coach, Officials Say A high school coach has been fired after a school district in Fairfield County received a "very serious report" from students before the Thanksgiving holiday. The assistant coach worked at Bethel High School, but was not an employee who worked in school buildings daily, according to officials. 2 Hudson Valley Residents Charged After Threatening Person With Gun, Machete A Hudson Valley man and woman were charged with possession of a weapon and menacing after allegedly threatening a person with a gun and a machete. The incident took place in Orange County around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8 in Newburgh on Timber Ridge Road. According to Lt. Peter Talarico of the Newburgh Police, a verbal argument broke between the man and woman and victim when the man pulled out a machete threatened the victim, and hit their car with the weapon as they were leaving. CT Man Charged After Shooting Down Drone With BB Gun A Connecticut man has been charged with criminal mischief for allegedly shooting down a drone with a BB gun. The incident took place in New Haven County around 1:20 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9 in the area of John Street in Milford. According to Milford Police, a man reported that he was legally flying his drone when it was shot with a BB gun and damaged. Following an investigation, it was determined that Lawrence Cyr, age 54, of Milford, shot the drone and caused significant damage, police said. Cyr was charged with criminal mischief and released on a promise to appear ticket.

Hudson Valley Child Rapist Heading To Prison After Jury Trial A 32-year-old man from the region will spend 56 years in prison after being found guilty of child rape. Ulster County resident Charles Burgher, of Highland, was sentenced Friday, Dec. 9 to state prison followed by 15 years post-release supervision. According to the Ulster County District Attorney's Office, Burgher was convicted of five counts of rape and three counts of criminal sexual act following a four-day jury trial in October. 36-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A 36-year-old was killed in a rollover crash in the region. The collision took place in Dutchess County around 5:15 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 in the area of 537 Salt Point Turnpike in the town of Hyde Park. According to Chief Robert Benson of the Hyde Park Police, Tyler J. McEnroe, of Millbrook, was driving a 1997 Subaru Hatchback when he lost control, overturned, and was partially ejected. 45-Year-Old CT Woman Killed, Man Critical In Wrong-Way I-84 Crash A 45-year-old Connecticut woman is dead and a man is in critical condition following a wrong-way driver crash on I-84. The collision took place in New Haven County around 6:20 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 10, in Waterbury. A 2004 Honda Accord was traveling in the wrong direction on I-84 when it caused two other vehicles to crash, said the Connecticut State Police. Fatal Overnight House Fire: Long Island Man ID'd As Victim A Long Island man has died from injuries suffered in a house fire. The blaze broke out around 9:55 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 10 in Hampton Bays. When police officers and firefighters arrived a woman who was able to escape the home, told officers that a man was still inside the Rolling Hill Road residence as heavy smoke and fire poured from the residence, said Sgt.
